Wegetam is a Nigerian online marketplace and commerce platform. Buyers can discover products and stores in one place, while business owners can run a professional storefront, publish eligible products to the marketplace, manage orders, delivery, inventory, payments and business activity from one workspace.
For buyersGetting startedDo I need an account before I can shop?
You can browse products and stores without signing in. A buyer account gives you a more convenient place to manage saved items and other account features. Checkout still collects the information needed to process and fulfil your order securely.
Buyers & sellersSelling & pricingDoes Wegetam commission increase the buyer's checkout price?
No separate marketplace commission is added to the buyer's product price at checkout. The commission is deducted from the merchant's product proceeds according to the applicable rate. Delivery is calculated separately from the seller's delivery settings.
For buyersPaymentsHow do I pay for a marketplace order?
Live marketplace checkout currently uses online payment. Payment success is verified by Wegetam on the server with the payment provider before an order is treated as paid. Do not rely on screenshots or messages claiming that a payment succeeded.

Sensitive payment state is handled server-side. Wegetam verifies payment-provider events, checks transaction details before financial state changes, uses step-up verification for sensitive payout-account changes, keeps finance records and audit trails, and prevents the same seller payout from being processed twice through payout references and atomic status changes.
For buyersTrust & securityWhy should I complete my purchase and payment inside Wegetam instead of paying a seller offline?
Complete marketplace purchases through Wegetam whenever possible. An on-platform order gives Wegetam a verified payment record, order history, seller-order tracking, delivery confirmation trail and the information needed to review supported disputes or refunds. If a seller asks you to cancel the Wegetam checkout and pay them directly by transfer, cash or another private channel, that payment may fall outside Wegetam's records and protections, making it much harder for the platform to verify what happened or assist with a dispute or refund. Never share your banking OTP, card PIN, password or sign-in verification code with a seller.
For buyersOrders & deliveryWhat is the delivery confirmation code and when should I give it to the seller?
The delivery confirmation code is part of Wegetam's fulfilment protection. Give the code to the seller only after you have actually received and accepted the relevant order fulfilment. A valid code confirms delivery for that seller order and starts the seller's payout waiting period. Never give the code in advance just because someone asks for it.
Buyers & sellersOrders & deliveryCan a delivery confirmation code be reused or guessed repeatedly?
No. Delivery codes are order-specific, verified on the server and invalidated after successful use. Repeated incorrect attempts are limited and can temporarily lock confirmation attempts. Sellers cannot complete a protected order simply by marking it delivered without the required confirmation flow.

A seller can configure a general delivery fee and more specific state or city/area rates. Checkout uses the buyer's selected delivery location to find the most specific matching rate. If no specific location rule matches, Wegetam falls back to the seller's broader state rule when available and then the seller's general delivery fee. Sellers can also offer pickup where enabled.
Buyers & sellersOrders & deliveryCan a seller choose the locations they sell and deliver to?
Yes. A store can choose to sell to all supported Nigerian locations or restrict delivery checkout to selected states and cities/areas. If your selected delivery location is outside that store's coverage, Wegetam will tell you before payment and block delivery checkout for that seller. Pickup can still be used when the seller offers it.
For buyersOrders & deliveryWhat happens if my cart contains products from different sellers?
Wegetam treats each seller's fulfilment separately inside the marketplace order. Delivery choices, fulfilment progress, delivery confirmation and seller payout eligibility can therefore happen at different times for different sellers in the same buyer order.
For buyersOrders & deliveryWhat should I do if there is a problem with delivery?
Do not confirm delivery if the order has not been received as expected. Use the order's available dispute or support flow so the issue can be reviewed. An open delivery dispute blocks the affected seller payout while the case is unresolved.

A refund or unresolved refund process can block the affected seller payout. Wegetam keeps payment, refund and finance records so the merchant and platform can see how the order's financial state changed. Refund availability and outcome depend on the order status, the marketplace policy and the facts of the case.
For buyersTrust & securityWhat does seller verification mean?
Verification signals that Wegetam has applied the platform's relevant seller-verification process to that business. It should increase confidence, but buyers should still review product information, fulfilment details and marketplace policies before ordering and should keep payment and delivery confirmation inside the supported Wegetam flow.

Never share your password, card PIN, banking OTP or account verification code with a seller or anyone claiming to be support. Seller delivery confirmation uses the dedicated delivery code shown through the supported order flow; it is not your password, bank OTP or sign-in verification code.

For sellersSelling & pricingHow much does it cost to sell on Wegetam?
Wegetam uses commission-based pricing instead of a monthly seller subscription. The applicable commission is deducted from the merchant's product proceeds when an online marketplace sale succeeds. The default marketplace rate can have category-specific overrides, and delivery fees are not included in platform commission.
For sellersSelling & pricingHow is my marketplace commission rate chosen?
Commission is determined per order item. Wegetam first checks the product's exact category, then the nearest parent category with an active override, and finally the platform default rate. The rate and commission used for an order item are snapshotted at checkout so later pricing changes do not rewrite historical orders.

Paying for an order does not immediately release the seller's money. For online-paid marketplace orders, the buyer first confirms successful fulfilment with the delivery confirmation code. The seller payout becomes eligible no earlier than 24 hours after that successful buyer-confirmed delivery, provided there is no dispute, refund, payout hold or other blocking issue and a verified payout account is available.

Storefront themes are designed to work across desktop and mobile, while eligible products can also appear in the wider Wegetam marketplace.

Yes. Sellers can choose from available storefront themes and configure business branding and storefront content such as logos, hero presentation, colours and business details. The storefront and marketplace listing use the same core product catalogue so you do not need to maintain duplicate products.

Where available in the merchant workspace, AI assistance can help draft and improve product information, business content and other supported inputs. It is an editing assistant, not an automatic publisher: the business owner should review generated information for accuracy before saving or publishing it.

Yes. The merchant workspace brings together products, inventory, marketplace listings, seller orders, delivery or pickup settings, finance information, notifications and other operational tools so the store can be managed from one place.

Wegetam publishes search-friendly public storefront and marketplace pages and uses SEO metadata and structured data where appropriate. This gives search engines clearer information about public content, but no platform can guarantee a particular Google ranking or traffic level. Accurate titles, descriptions, categories, images, location and useful product information still matter.

Eligible live products can be discovered through marketplace search, categories, store pages and location-based browsing. Your own storefront also gives you a direct link to share through WhatsApp, social media, advertising, printed materials and other marketing channels.

Never share your password, card PIN, banking OTP or account verification code with a seller or anyone claiming to be support. Seller delivery confirmation uses the dedicated delivery code shown through the supported order flow; it is not your password, bank OTP or sign-in verification code.

The payout account flow resolves the account name through the payment provider before saving and requires additional security verification for sensitive changes. Payout-account data and changes are handled through protected server-side workflows and important actions are recorded for audit and operational review.
